With only two days left until the official release date for HorrorClix Nightmares (it released in Europe a couple of weeks ago) we've completed a little more than 90% of the monsters gallery here at It's Wicked Fun.
We're still missing pictures of 5 monsters, cards for 6 monsters, and dials for 22 monsters. Everything else (and these as we receive the information) can be seen from our HorrorClix monsters page. For the complete list of what we're still missing see the HorrorClix forums.
Thanx, once agin, to Fodskammel we also finally have the long-awaited Zombie Astronaut card posted! |

| February 20, 2008 - Freddy vs. Jason Action Pack |
Discuss |
Thanks to EryxUK we have full details on the Fredy vs. Jason New Line Cinema Action Pack-
There is a single double-side map with this starter. On one side is the Boiler Room which is a bit hard on the eyes (grid panel floor) but is a rather nice maze map. The other side is Camp Crystal Lake. Its a section of lake with jetty and five small cabins.
The six victims are reprints of cop, 2x student, and nerd, with two new ones - hero and heroine. All these are photo stills from the film rather than the usual artwork. These do have a copyright NLC on the backs but its small text and they blend in well with the standard victims unlike the 20th Century Fox logo on the AVP victims.
There are four new plot twists.
Two new 3D objects.
Freddy's Stove. If a victim is slain while adjacent to a Freddy's Stove the slaying monster is healed of 1 damage.
Open Grave. If a victim is slain while adjacent to an open grave, the active player can move another victim a number of spaces equal to half its speed value.
Five new monsters. |

| August 17, 2007 - Two MASSIVE Announcements |
Discuss |
| 1)
We've now received two reports that the big announcement at GenCon was that the next licensed property for HorrorClix is a New Line Cinema Action Pack containing Freddy Kreuger (Nightmare on Elm Street), Jason Voorhees (Friday The 13th), and Leatherface (Texas Chanisaw Massacre).
While still unconfirmed, we're fairly confident this is accurate information.
Discussion of the announcement and what it means for the game can be found at http://horrorclix.net/viewtopic.php?p=15332
2) On the HorrorClix Forums rottgutt reports:
Okay, I've been drinking so take that into consideration when I flip out, but here's what I've gleaned from the Envoy Appreciantion Night reports I've gotten:
[snip]
The bad part is that Nightmares will be postponed until fucking February when they release the New Line action pack.
What the hell? We need an expansion, we don't need the expansion to be delayed! That's not going to do anything beneficial to the game.
Grrr...
Now that's what I've been told. I don't believe it to be a rumor.

| August 14, 2007 - HorrorClix: The Lab to Release in Europe on September 6! |
|
HorrorClix: The Lab, the long-anticipated second release of HorrorClix, will arrive at European retailers on Thursday, September 6, with a surprise European-exclusive addition!
“We’re really excited to release this special European version of The Lab,” said Mark Tuttle, HorrorClix brand manager at WizKids. “As a token of appreciation for our patient HorrorClix fans, we’ve added a sneak preview of Nightmares to European The Lab Boosters.”
These sneak previews are two figures from the third HorrorClix release, : Succubus and Mime Monster. These figures have been randomly inserted into European The Lab Boosters.
HorrorClix: The Lab combines bizarre creatures from across sci-fi and horror worlds, including alien grays, dinosaurs, misshapen experiments, and zombies! The set features 96 The Lab monsters to collect, with new plot twist cards and victim tokens. HorrorClix: The Lab Boosters contain four randomly inserted figures, four matching monster cards, one plot twist card, and one victim token. |
| July 23, 2007 - House (rules) Of Horror (clix) |
|
A few months back we here at It's Wicked Fun decided to do a monthly HorrorClix house rules article for Bill Rock's Critical Hit magazine. We dutifully wrote up our first issue and submitted it, Then waited. And Waited. It's been more than 6 weeks since the last monthly issue was released and over a month since the deadline for our first monthly column. For some reason No Critical Hit has been published. We're very aware that real life sometimes messes up schedules for hobby stuff (and y'all know we've had the problem many times), but we just couldn't wait any longer. So...
Introducing the first House of Horror column by the crew at It's Wicked Fun. The theme for Critical Hit was scheduled to be Carnival of Carnage, so we decided to honor Freakshow with not only Carny Minions, courtesy of the new Subplot: One Of Us. We hope you like 'em. We also devised a new rule set for turning existing uniques into Cabal Leaders and used six Freakshow uniques as samples. Read the column for full details! |
| July 14, 2007 - T-shirt ideas needed! |
|
I recently came across two young local artists who are interested in creating some art for the It's Wicked Fun Network. They do great work, with plenty of detail and some pretty amazing anatomical images.
So, the question is, what shall I have them draw? That's where y'all come in.
I'm collecting ideas for a tshirt deign in this thread at the Horrorclix forums.
I'll have them draw up a few concepts for us and then let our visitors decide which we should have done and emblazon on various I.W.F. swag. |
| July 9, 2007 - Massive HorrorClix Sale! |
|
My personal financial situation has gotten beyond desperate, and the only thing I have left that's at all salable is my Clix, so it's time for them to go as well.
Don't worry, I am not going anywhere (neither is I.W.F. network - donations are in seperate accounts), and I fully intend to recover all of these HorrorClix once I'm back on my feet. I'm just out of other things to sell.
I've posted up a thread in the For Sale forum listing all my clix for sale and details.
Pretty much the entire Base Set and Lab, every LE (except the Carousel Ghost and Wacko Jacko), Cthulhu, Fin Fang Foom, and much, much more!
There are also auctions for the four Freakshow LE figures: FS-200 Bull, FS-201 Miss Slyther, FS-202 Tunnel Terror, and FS-203 Billy Stank. At least one of these won't be available ANYWHERE else until October. But WizKids has repeatedly stated that for HorrorClix a figure is legal to play as soon as you have it in your hand, so.... |

June 29, 2007 - Forums active again at new domain! |
|
As mentioned below, we have moved the forums to a new domain.
The current forwarding page: http://forum.itswickedfun.net continues to work as do all links from the main site.
However,
Your cookies may need to be changed, so if you're set to always be logged in, you may not be now.
If you still have problems seeing the forums at the new domain (HorrorClix.net), clear your cookies and browser cache.
Any links directly to the forums or a particular post on the forums will no longer function. These will need the http://forum.itswickedfun.net/horror/phpBB2/ portion changed to http://www.horrorclix.net

June 26, 2007 - IMPORTANT! Forum domain changing! |
|
The domain for the IWF forums will be changing Thursday night at midnight PDT (roughly). The forums will be closed down for (hopefully only) about a half hour while this change is made. If you visit the forums and receive a "page not found" or "forums closed" message during this time (or on Friday) DO NOT be alarmed. We'll be back ASAP!
The current forwarding page: http://forum.itswickedfun.net will continue to work as will the links from the main site.
However,
There is no reason we should lose any posts and this change would probably go unnoticed by the majority of our users, but we wanted to let you know in advance.
For any who are concerned, this is a GOOD thing for the site as it is a sign of our growth.

June 19, 2007 - Scenario Contest results |
|
Well, we've finally finished up with the scenario contest!
(you remember the scenario contest, right? From April? Yeah, we suck and we know it).
Second place goes to....
The Adventures of Tabio the Zombie
Chapter 1: Get That Zombie
by Thony
None of us here are much in the way of Zombie fans. Making us rethink our assumptions is always worth a reward of some sort. In fact, this scenario got higher marks, on average, then any of the other finalists. Unfortunately, for Tabio ... er, Thony, the point spread wasn't quite enough to take out...
our first place winner:
Burning Down The House
by Visceral_Mass
We just can't stop playing this scenario. Okay, not so much the scenario itself as its special rule. We regularly drop it into games (sometimes even in the middle of the game!). It works, it's simple, it turns everything on its ear, it can be used as a tool to speed games up, newbies can grasp it without difficulty. In other words, it's almost tailor-made for winning a contest such as this.
Many, many of the scenarios that were submitted were absolutely outstanding. Several were amazing efforts that worked really well, but just seemed as if they were going to be too complicated for many situations. This doesn't mean they aren't great scenarios, though. Umatima and I play against each other WAY too often, for example, so we're always looking for something to spice things up and force us to alter our regular tactics. While our winner is an easy gateway scenario for new players and the runner up is perfect for a group with a solid ZM, it's likely the more complex scenarios that re going to keep the game fresh during the summer figure drought.
The volume and quality of the scenarios submitted for this contest were both spectacular. It truly is all of you that make both It's Wicked Fun and HorrorClix so great! |
June 19, 2007 - First Semi-Annual Report |
|
I discovered HorrorClix on November 21, 2006
I bought my Starter and first boosters on November 24, 2006
It's Wicked Fun (the gaming group) was founded December 1, 2006 (after I got a few friends hooked)
I registered the domain name on December 28, 2006
The site went public on January 15, 2007
The forums were created on February 13, 2007 (don't know when they went public as it was gradual)
I'd say we're doing pretty well for such a young site
The forums have just over 200 registered accounts with about half of them making more than 10 posts and 90% making at least one.
The main site has grown from about 50 pages in January to over 1,000 pages now.
We still have far more official info readily available than the official WizKids site.
We've got close to 200 custom game components on the site, nearly 100 different scenarios, and oh so much more.
We receive daily visits from more than a dozen different countries and have been visited by people from more than 30.
We've received cash donations from 10 people (outside IWF members), product donations from a few more. Considering our youth and how little I push for donations this is not bad at all, though more is always better
It's going to be a long summer with the lack of new HorrorClix product and my financial situation not allowing me to sponsor contests the way we were, but we've got a solid group of regulars and I believe both the game and this site should survive (if not exactly thrive) during this drought.
I'm not sure what else y'all would like to know about IWF's first six months in existence, but feel free to post if you have questions.
Oh, and we're still doing just fine without moderators, thank you very much. The community has taken to the hands-off approach and policed itself as I knew you all could.
I do want to thank all of you that have contributed so much time and energy to this site. Without all of you it would just be another random page drifting through the ether of the internet. Not only have you made the game better for all (whether they know about the site or not), but you've kept me, personally, going through some incredibly difficult times. Thank you.
We've always been about full disclosure here at I.W.F. (well, except for the Rank thresholds, but that's just fun to keep secret ) so here's a rough breakdown of the financial side of I.W.F. over the first six months...
Income-
Cash Donations - $166.51 (after PayPal Fees)
Map Sales - ~$187.00 (after PayPal Fees)
CafePress Sales - $4.00
Custom victim/PT sales - $37.00
Advertising Revenue (None of which has been received or will be received until August at the earliest)
- Straight ads - $35.76
- Affiliate Fees - $93.90 (almost all as a result of eBay)
Total site revenue - $524.17 (including the $129.66 owed to us ($394.51 actually received))
Outlay-
Domain names - $45.00
Site Hosting - $90.00
Map Printing - $236.37
Prizes awarded (not counting April/May contests) - $346.00
Shipping of prizes/maps/purchases - $126.09
Expected cost of April/May Contest prizes w/ shipping - ~$350.00
Total site costs - $1193.46 (including prizes owed ($843.46 already expended))
If we were to add in 2 full-time employees at California minimum wage that'd be roughly another $1800.00 (and collectively we spend way more than 80 hours per week working on I.W.F.).
Not to mention our personal expenditures on HorrorClix.
So it's pretty obvious that the rumors that we run this site for the money are correct, isn't it
Yep, we're making a killing. Hoo-rah! |
June 18, 2007 - Lying Monkeys Made Honest! |
|
Pseudotheist (HorrorClix Rules Arb) Wrote on the WizKids Forum-
News Flash: Monkeys Fly!
No, not out of my butt... out of the Errata and Clarifications.
It has been decided that the Flying Monkeys (Freakshow figures # 64-66) should indeed have the bat-wing movement symbol to indicate flying. This will be added to the next version of the Errata & Clarifications.

June 6, 2007 - HorrorClix: Freakshow LE Figure Prize Support |
|
HorrorClix: Freakshow has brought us many new monsters, powers, Plot Twists and victims, but the most oft asked question for any new Clix expansion has to be... "What about the LE Prize figures?" Well, once again, WizKids has come through with flying colors (literally in one case). We're proud to present the four Prize Support figures from HorrorClix: Freakshow-

June 6, 2007 - June 2007 HorrorClix FAQ Released |
|
WizKids has released the latest FAQ and Errata document for HorrorClix. This is a completely reworked document and much cleaner and easier to use than the previous documents. You can download it from our Rules Page.
We here at It's Wicked Fun took a couple of days off from the "business" of HorrorClix and this site in order to regain our sanity, by playing with the new Freakshow figures and basically ignoring WizKids and the various forums. We're back now and once again in love with this awesome game called HorrorClix. We're continuing to add cards and dials for Freakshow figures, editing numerous site entries, creating new customs suggested by our users, building an "army builder database" for HorrorClix, and writing a VERY exciting review/preview article which should be posted this evening. |
June 3, 2007 - Contests Update |
|
The Campaign Contest closed over the weekend, and we've got a total of 6 entries. Three of which I've still got to get read, edited and posted.
We haven't forgotten about the Scenario contest either. It's just taking a while to play them all out as most of our members don't like being forced into a certain army type and most of the semi-finalists require specific armies (mostly Gurdians). But we're working on it.
We have no specific contests in mind for the near future, so we're instituting monthly drawings instead. Full details below:
Our monthly contests have been a HUGE success and we thank all of the participants as profusely as we can. But we've come to a point where all of the different areas of the site have plenty of content that people have not yet explored. So we're going to try something a little different.
At the end of each month we will have a drawing for some special HorrorClix prizes: sealed product, hard to find stuff, etc. The more entries we have each month the more (and/or more expensive) prizes we'll have. This will allow visitors to contibute whatever they like when the mood strikes them: reviews, scenarios, campaigns, custom pieces, etc. It's also another way to give back to our donors (who make purchasing the prizes possible).
Entries to the drawing can be earned in a number of ways-
-
Donate to the site -
Every dollar donated to the site in any given month will earn the donor one entry.
Donors on a subscription will receive a number of entries equal to that month's allocation of their total donation. For example, if you donate at the Rookie level ($18/six months) you will receive 3 entries per month or if you donate at the Veteran level ($50/year) you will receive 5 entries per month (yes, annual subscriptions get you two 'free' months.
-
Submit content to the site -
Every piece of content submitted by a visitor and added to the site will earn its author/submitter a number of entries to that month's drawing.
Reviews will general earn fewer entries than full articles/columns, which will generally earn fewer entries than full-length campaign systems or complex variants.
But it's not only length of the submission, but usefulness as well. If someone were to submit a full setlist of Nightmares in June then that would be an incredible find and would earn more entries than an excellent battle report that has many more words involved.
The number of entries received for a submission to the site will be determined by the It's Wicked Fun staff (aka cabal members) and the submitter will be notified of the number they received when they are notified that their submission has been posted.
-
Link to us -
If you have a website/blog/forum/etc and have posted a link back to ItsWickedFun.net then let us know about it and we'll give you 5 entries to the monthly drawing for each full month the link has been active on your site.
-
Contributing to the forums -
Again, no hard and fast rules here, but whenever an IWF staff (aka cabal member) feels you have been particularly helpful or useful in the forums, they just may throw a contet entry your way.
-
Buy something from us -
Whether it be through our CafePress shop, our eBay auctions, or ordering customs from the site or forums. Every $5 spent at I.W.F. will net you an entry as well.
-
Find us advertisers -
If you know a business or website that you think could benefit from advertising here at It's Wicked Fun, contact us for our rate sheet. If your contact ends up purchasing advertising from us, you will receive one entry for every $2 they spend in advertising.
-
Attend Our Events -
All participants in any face-to-face event run by It's Wicked Fun will receive an entry into that month's drawing as well.
A message containing the running total of the number of outstanding entries for the month as well as the prize(s) being offered will be maintained in the Wicked Contests section of our forum. |
