Sculpt: 4/10 Really, there is nothing extraordinary about the sculpt of this figure. Besides the weapon changing between the figures in the REV set, all the faith priests are quite boring and lackluster. Beyond that, there is nothing truly intuitive that can be said about the sculpt – it’s a priest.

Playability: 8.5/10 Now, I can state that this figure isn’t one of the prettier models that Wizkids has produced, but as for playability, this guy gives some fantastic options. As a crossroads character, this figure gives choices which almost always is a good thing. On side A, he has and area damaging power, and accuracy. This is absolutely great in certain circumstances, and the addition of protector makes the side more rounded. However, it is difficult to use this piece as a utility piece when there are so many cheaper models that also have area of effect damage. His Attack value on Side A leave a lot to be desired, but it clearly shows that his first side is better used against the weaker figures in the game.
Now that I have at least mentioned Side A, we can get to the real utility of this piece, Side B. Side B grants him an average attack value that remains steady throughout the dial, deadshot for 3 clicks, intimidate for 3 clicks, and my personal favorite, martial arts for every click of the dial. This essentially means that the rookie faith priest has one of the best defensive powers coupled with one of the best offensive powers in the game. Being able to dish out 4 damage at range can devastate most models, killing them outright or knocking them down enough to make them much less of a threat. If opponents go into base-to-base with him, he can beat them or tie them up with his martial arts which is definitely worth the 55 points this model costs.
Overall, the rookie faith priest has some great powers and can be useful in almost any game in which guardians are fielded. The only major drawback to this figure is the fact that as a crossroads card, it limits the length of his dial on both sides substantially. With only 5 clicks of health on both sides, he suffers as his lifespan can end up being extremely short. Don’t let that stop you from placing him in your build though, because the ability to use him to his fullest degree means that he will assist in victim denial while raining bullets upon whomever you face. The rookie faith priest has earned his points in almost every game I have ever seen him played.
