"The transformation came upon him quickly. One moment, I was dining with a man with a pleasant countenance. But when the smell of my blood touched his nostrils, he warped and changed; he could not help himself. Throwing back the table the Baron stood to his feet and roared, his eyes burning the color of wind-swept coals. Dropping the knife with which I had cut myself, I drew my pistol beneath the table, even as the fiend began to shape wings and a mouthful of fangs...

Ratings Scale 1(horrible) to 10 (perfect)
Sculpt – 8.5
The sculpt of Stoker is one of the coolest in the game. He is an enormous vampire with wings so large that they are holding him up from the ground. He has large fangs and evil eyes that definitely create an intimidating look. Stoker is absolutely the meanest looking vampire in the game. The only thing left to be desired is a little more color or detail in the paint. Stoker is a solid tan color all over, which is a little disappointing.
Stats / Abilities – 7
Insanity drives me insane! It is one of those abilities that can really piss you off during a game, and Stoker has it on 4 clicks of his dial. To help offset this annoyance though is a hefty attack rating that starts at 11 and never drops below 9. His defense rating is also high at 18, and never dropping below 16. Stoker is no slouch on dealing damage either, with a rating that stays at 3 or 4 for most of his dial. Stoker sometimes has the ability to heal himself 1 click if he causes damage, and also gets to make a free close combat attack when he kills a monster for all but 3 clicks of his dial. Finally, Stoker is a cabal leader, and his cabal power allows him to feed on adjacent cabal members, dealing them 2 damage while healing himself for 1.
Game Play – 7 I have played with Stoker a couple of times because I want him to do well. His awesome attack and damage rating mean he should be able to take a bite out of opponents’ armies (pun intended). However, so far he has been more frustrating than effective. Insanity rolls fail fairly often, meaning you either watch your opponent move him away from the action, or take a beating from Stoker yourself. I try to keep Stoker away from all my other monsters, so that he can’t hurt them, but that also results in him getting ganged up on.
Summary
It’s a double edged sword with Stoker. His high attack, defense, and damage ratings are hard to ignore, and make you want to put him in your army. However, Stoker’s insanity ability can be frustrating at times, and a lack of any defensive ability can be hurtful. In short, I won’t give up on Stoker for good, as I know if the dice fall right, he can be a powerhouse.
