003 Cold Spot

Cold Spot

Cold Spot

A frightened victim gets a chill up his or her spine.

Play this card as the chosen viticm moves to a specific space.  The chosen victim's movement ends on that space.  You can also play this card on your turn to reroll one attack roll; you must use the rerolled result.

"Is it getting colder in here, or is it just me?"

This card has 2 effects, but most people tend to use the second one. The ability to reroll can change a critical miss to a critical hit, and while this rarely happens, you get my point. This PT has saved my hide many-a-time and I strongly recommend placing it into your crypt because we struggle with the problem of low AV vs. high DV all the time. When a zombie trys to hit a Matron Mother his chances aren't fantastic, but with Cold Spot in your crypt you may just have a chance. I really like the picture in this card, very cool.

7.5/10 - 'Cold Spot' combines a solid effect with the highly sought after 'reroll' effect. Allowing you to stop a victim where you want it can be better than stopping it in some situations, but this leads to the card's big flaw…It's hard to surprise someone with it more than once. This isn't because they can see it coming, though - it's because when most people go to move something, they trace an imaginary line with their fingers, than place what their moving in that space. Having to say "Show me the path it's taking" is a pretty big cue, allowing them to nullify or reduce the effect of the card.
Still - no card with a reroll effect will get less than a 7/10 from me. That effect alone is potent enough to be it's own Plot Twist, and the only reason I opt for a 7/10 instead of a higher score is because the effect is present on even better Plot Twists like 'Broke a Heel'.
