HorrorClix Cryptocode

HorrorClix Cryptocode
A HorrorClix Puzzle system by Weyoun's Last Clone

Needed: The starter set will give you everything you need. Specifically, you need the six starter figures, 4 hindering terrain tokens, 2 prom queen-victims, a cheerleader victim, and a 3x3-area on the map.

Welcome adventurer. You come for the treasure, is it right? Unfortunately, it is hidden, kept secret for ages. You enter a room with ancient statues. Your goal is to position the statues in such a way that it opens the crypt. Will you be the first one to unlock the code? Good luck on your journey, and see how many treasures you can unlock!

For this game any 3x3 area can be considered as the location. (You can use a starting area of the starter map, or draw a 3x3 grid yourself). The six figures from the starter set (Bloodvamp, Outpatient, Skeleton, Chainsaw, Lynch Ghost, and Bane Wolf) are the six statues you have to relocate.

Below you will find several puzzles. The puzzles give you the initial configuration of the figures on the left, and the configuration of what the solution has to be on the right. For the first (rookie) set of puzzles, you only need the figures on their starting line. For the second (experienced) set, the figures can be anywhere in the dial. In the third (veteran) set, additional elements (victims and hindering terrain) are placed on the grid that affect the game.

The initial configuration on the left shows you which figure to place where. The configuration on the right shows the end goal, but now it doesn't say which figure, but it shows which color has to end up where (if orange is pictured, the figure at that spot has to have an orange power on one of its slots at that moment). Your goal is to go from the original positions to new positions so that the colors on the figures match the configuration you need to achieve pictured in the right. To achieve this you can move the statues horizontally or vertically (but not diagonally). Every time you move a figure one square, deal it one click of damage. When [skulls] are showing the statue can't be moved anymore. Ignore hourglasses (although it can still be part of the solution).

These codes are used to identify the figures:

BV = Bloodvamp
BW = Bane Wolf
CS = Chainsaw
LG = Lynch Ghost
OP = Outpatient
SK = Skeleton

And these for colors/hourglass:

bl = blue
br = brown
gr = green
hg = hourglass-icon
or = orange
pu = purple
re = red
skull = skull-icon
n = no color showing on dial

Experienced cryptologist puzzles:

The number behind a figure denotes the click a figure starts on: for example BV2 means the Blood Vamp should start on her second click; CS1 means Chainsaw starts on his opening click with the green line; BWred and OPred mean that the Bane Wolf and Outpatient should start on their red starting line

Veteran cryptologist puzzles:

Additional elements:

HT = place a hindering terrain token in this square. When you move a statue in such a square it takes two clicks instead of one.

Victims: PQ = place a prom queen victim token in this spot, and CL = place a cheerleader victim token in this spot; when a statue is moved in a square with a victim remove the victim and heal your statue/monster of clicks equal to the movement value on the victim (but do not heal past the starting line). When you end on a victim, you have to resolve any effects of the victim before anything else. So when you’re on click 3 and end on a prom queen, you get 3 clicks healing back to the starting click, and then you get one click damage because you moved. Only after this can you check if you meet the requirements for the solution.
