Casablanca (Rick's Cafe)
A Horrorclix Scenario by Hellfury
Background-
If you thought fleeing from the Nazis by going to casablanca was safe, youre sorely mistaken. You have traded the threat of political monsters for real life monsters! Will the throngs of plebians be able to escape Rick's Cafe Americain and flee not only the nazi threat, but the supernatural threat as well?
Objective-
To eat (or guard) as many political refugees (victims) as possible, and possibly eat your opponent as well.
Army Size-
300 points
Time-
45 minutes
Map-
Crimson Skies Airfield Map (The one with the cantina and the outside airstrip with automobiles.)
Setup-
12 victims. Place 1 victim adjacent to each vehicle, bar, table and two adjacent to the plane. One team will setup within 3 squares of the sewer square on the map, and one team will setup within 3 squares of the "airfield map with copyright info" square.
Special Scenario Rules-
Victims will be comprised of the special character tokens provided in the main Crimson Skies game. Thier movement is equal to the movement listed on the token. (This is mostly for a early 20th centrury feel, you can randomly choose which victims to use from crimson skies, or you can hand select the most appropriate victims for a true "casablanca" feel. Rest assured, they are in there)
Instead of moving victims normally, take turns moving a victim its max distance towards the plane starting at the beginning of the first players 3rd turn. If 8 or more victims reach the are adjacent to a plane at the end of a turn, then those victims "escape". (Actually, they choose to board a Nazi plane and become herded off to unknown confinement within fascist germany than be eaten by monsters)
If this occurs, each monster and guardian in play gets their dial rotated once to represent the failure of the feast/saving them from certain doom.
A bonus of 10 VP for each eaten/rescued victim at the end of the game is awarded.
[on a side note, the out of print Wizkids Crimson Skies game can be found at many places for dirt cheap.( I picked up a copy where I live in Minneapolis from "Games by James" board game franchise for $4) It provides two maps and numerous interesting tokens for use as victims. the only downside is that they have crimson skies printed on the back, but if you use all crimson skies victims, then it wont be too much of a problem.]
