Do Your Worst
A Horrorclix Scenario by Mad Jack
:
Background:
All too often we hear the stories about the greatest
killers and the most terrifying monsters battling for
supremacy. But what about the bush leaguers, the
amateurs, the sadly inept would-be monsters duking it
out over their poor excuses for hunting grounds?
This week, Behind the Screaming looks at the world of
horror’s up-and-comers, has-beens, never-weres, and
never-will-bes.
Objective:
Each player aims to defeat all others.
Army Size:
Each player builds an army of at least 200 points.
Time Limit:
60 minutes. (If used in a tournament, shorter rounds
are recommended – 30 minutes may be ideal.)
Map:
First player chooses the map as per core rules.
Setup:
Each player provides six victims and prepares a crypt
of ten plot twists.
Special Scenario Rule:
Turnabout is Fair Play
Before the match begins, players trade armies and
crypts. Each player discards six of the provided plot
twists, so that six remain in his or her borrowed
crypt. (Any extra twists allowed by a monster will be
selected from these borrowed cards.) Each player uses
the borrowed army and crypt for the match.
An Important Reminder:
The goal of the scenario is to have a lot of fun and a
few laughs, and to get use out of monsters you
normally avoid. Obviously each player will try to
assemble an army and crypt that can’t possibly win,
but there are limits. While there might be some laughs
in an army of 40 Alien Egg Minions, it’s just not
cool. At least throw in some Runaways. And hey,
where’d you get 40 Alien Egg Minions, anyway? That's
just weird.
