AVP: SOLITAIRE
A One-Player Horrorclix Scenario by Uberman
(for use with Survival HorrorClix Rules)

Once every 100 years, the galactic hunters known only as the Predators descend on Earth for a ritual hunt. This ceremony is for the purpose of proving a young Predator's skills as a hunter, and it pits them against the ultimate prey: the vicious Aliens.

In this Horrorclix Solitaire system you control both your team of Predators and the opposing enemy Aliens. As with any solitaire game, it is important that you not cheat!

For this version of Horroclix: Solitaire you will need the following:

* Any Horrorclix AVP Map
* The AVP Predator set
* The AVP Aliens set
* The AVP Alien Queen set
* 4 Victim tokens
* 8 Minions tokens of any type, so long as they have the standard Logo back.
* 6 Plot Twist cards [Must all be triggered by a Slaying attempt]

The Monster Deck

For AVP: Solitaire you will need to construct a Monster Deck. In order to do so, take the monster cards for the 8 available Aliens figures, excluding the Queen. For this game, if a Rookie or Experienced Alien is killed, its Monster card may be re-shuffled back into the Monster Deck.

SET-UP

* Construct a Predator force of no more than 300 points.
* Place four Alien Egg minion tokens. Feel free to devise as random a system for this as possible [through dice rolling or blind placement].
* Place all Alien cards in a pile and shuffle. Deal the top 4 cards and place the remainder in a stack, under a dummy Plot Twist card so as to keep them hidden. Place the 4 dealt monsters in any starting area.
* Randomize the 4 Victim and 8 random Minion tokens and place them following standard Victim Placement rules.
* Place your team in the opposite starting area to the enemy's.
* Shuffle the Crypt of Plot Twists and keep it face-down. Any additional Plot Twists granted by your team are added to this Crypt.

GAMEPLAY

In AVP: Solitaire, all Aliens are considered Blooded at all times. Predators are considered Blooded after slaying a victim and/or after killing an opposing monster. Keep track of this for the purposes of any power based on cumulative slaying and rescuing.

During your Suspense Phase, choose and flip one token. If that token is a Victim, move it as normal. If it is a Minion, replace it with the top card of the Monster Deck. If at any time your run out of Monsters in the Monster Deck, place an Alien Drone Minion instead. If you do not have any Alien Drones available, no monster is placed. You receive three actions per turn.

Aliens do not cause face-down tokens to flip, but they are flipped per standard adjacency rules for Predators. If flipped, and the token is a Minion, replace it as above and your movement ends. The opposing monster automatically attacks your monster.

Slaying and Rescuing occurs as normal.

When you have taken your three actions, it is the Aliens' turn. Roll one d6. This is the number of actions the Aliens get.

During the Aliens' Suspense phase, if an Alien Egg is adjacent to a Predator or is within range of a Predator, it will use its Facehugger power on it. For this game, consider the Facehugger power to have both the Cleaver and Gun symbols. Only one egg will attack each round, and if there are multiples that qualify for this attack, the Predator with the lowest Defense will be the target. No Victims move during the Aliens' Suspense phase.

Aliens will always use their powers to their best advantage. They will remain on Side One of their cards as long as they are not adjacent to a Predator. They will flip to Side Two at the start of any turn in which they are adjacent to a Predator. If an Alien has a ranged combat special ability, it will use it if possible. Aliens will act in the following order of priority:

* Attack an adjacent Predator [The Alien with the highest Attack will attack first. If there is a tie, the Alien with the Highest Damage will attack first.]
* Frenzy against a Predator within Frenzy range or make a Ranged Combat Attack [The Alien with the highest Attack will attack first. If there is a tie, the Alien with the Highest Damage will attack first.]
* Attempt to Slay a face-up Victim within movement Range
* Move towards nearest Predator, using full movement
* Move towards nearest face-up Victim, using full movement

If a Victim and Predator are equidistant, the Alien will opt for the Predator.

When an Alien attempts to slay a Victim, play the top card out of your Crypt and follow its directions. If a Victim is successfully slain by an Alien without Spree, replace it with an Alien Drone Minion token if one is available.

Apply Hourglass damage as normal at the end of the Aliens' turn.

SPECIAL RULES

At any time during your turn you may remove one Victim which was slain or rescued by you from the game and heal each of your monsters of one click of damage. The monster who removed said Victim is no longer considered Blooded [unless it has also killed an enemy monster].

THE GLORY OF THE HUNT
Any Predator may exit the map through the Aliens' starting area. It must begin its turn adjacent to the map edge and be given a move action while not adjacent to an opposing monster. Any Predator that kills more than double its point value in Aliens and makes it out alive has earned the Respect of its species, but for true Glory, collect as many skulls as possible before leaving.

THE QUEEN

AVP: Solitaire may be played as a campaign across multiple maps.

* Begin on the Whaling Station map. Play as above with the following exceptions: Do not place any Alien eggs, and place 6 victims instead of 4. Adjust Minions appropriately.
* When a Predator exits a map, heal it 1D6-2, and set it aside.
* When all Predators have exited the map, set up as above on the Upper Pyramid Map, and follow all map-specific rules. Place Alien Eggs as normal, and place 5 Victims instead of 4. Adjust Minions appropriately. Play through.
* When all Predators have exited this map, set up the Alien Queen Chamber map, using the Queen and Egg Base, and all associated rules. Place no Alien eggs, and place 4 Victims as standard. At the beginning of the Aliens' turn, the Queen will use all powers available to her. Follow all rules pertaining to the Chained Queen as normal regarding retaliatory strikes. While the Queen is still chained, attacking the Harness is the second priority behind attacking an Adjacent Predator. If the Queen is released, she will always act first no matter what.
