Hunter's Moon

Hunter’s Moon
A Horrorclix Solitaire/ Coop Scenario

By Octavious2799

This is a solitaire scenario based on Uberman's Survival HorrorClix or my Alternate Survival HorrorClix rules.

Background: In their world they are breed for the hunt; to stalk worthy prey and finish them efficiently. The Clanarchs came to Earth for that reason, worthy prey.

It is the Harvest Hunt ceremony and the Clanarchs are out in numbers. They form small hunting parties and slaughter pray, in an all night celebrate to the harvest gods.

Tonight, during their hunt, they have drawn the attention of another hunter. The hunters have become the hunted.

Tonight you will determine who the best hunters in Horrorclix are when the Pride Warriors battle the Predators.

Objective: Prove you are the better hunter by defeating the opposing army. Although, this scenario is structured for you to play as the Pride Warriors, you can switch and play as the Predators.

Army Size:
Your Army the Hunters: 130 point armies; three actions per turn. Army must be composed entirely of Pride Warriors or Predators.
The Opposing army: 260 points; d6 for number of actions per turn. Half of the build total (130pts) must be composed entirely of the hunted and the other half (130) must be the Hunters (Predators or Pride Warriors).

Time Limit: 60 minutes (up to you)

Map: Any

Setup:

Victims/ Minion tokens: Use 6 victims and 6 minions. Use all minions that fit the theme of the hunted group, if possible; if not use a mix of minions will work. Mix them up and place them per standard rules.

Starting figures: Start 4 figures from the hunted group, in the starting areas (2 per starting area). Mix the Hunter cards in the monster deck. Remember, the Hunters are not necessarily working with the hunted, they just happen to be attacking at the same time.

Crypt Cards: Use 12 Plot Twist instead of 6 (see special rules below).

Special Scenario Rules per standard solitaire rules with a few exceptions:

  • “What are they? Get them!”: When the minion tokens are flipped over, the are not converted to a figure but instead, they attack with the figures. You do not control minion tokens but instead fight them.
  • “Get away from me you freakish monster! Don’t touch me!”: A Plot Twist card will be pulled whenever you attempt a slaying of a victim as well as when the opposing army does (per standard rules). Duplicate of cards maybe used. Remember, in this scenario you are the hunter, slaughtering prey, nobody goes willingly.
  • “I lead this hunt.”: Select one Veteran figure from the Pride Warriors, she is Hssthe, the leader. Give her a special marker. She is considered unique (add 20 points to her listed point value) and has the Cabal Power: Pack Tactics, This monster gets +1 to its attack value for every friendly member of its cabal adjacent to the target. For this scenario anyone with the name Pride Warrior are part of the same Cabal.

Victory Conditions: Defeat all opposing monsters.

Some tips for playing to maximize the fun:

  • When the game initially begins, when following the rules of engagement for the opposing army the first thing they will go for (because your figures are too far away) are the victim tokens... if exposed. If they end their movement next to an unexposed victim they will expose it and can slay/ rescue it.
  • Be conscious of the prey you use. All other figures besides the Hunters (Preditors) and the Hunted (Pride Warriors) should be rookies or experienced under 35 points. Its hard enough beating 1 Preditor but to have to deal with a Vet. Hook is a nightmare. If you are using the Preditors as your team, they can hold their own against almost any figures.
  • If you decide to use the Pride Warriors and don't want the Preditors to kill your kitties to fast, use a map with lot of walls (Haunted Mansion works purrrfectly to make it all about close combat).
  • You can swap out the Preditors and make this about any figures. Or you can swap out the Pride Warriors and the Razor Vixens or Matron Mothers, even Insect Men.
